James Lucas
As the Managing Director of LJ Recruitment, I bring over a decade of experience leading high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams in both large global organizations and boutique agencies. Throughout my career, I’ve recruited for a wide range of sectors, including professional services, commerce and industry, public sector, and not-for-profit organisations. I have successfully placed professionals at all levels, with a particular focus on managerial and C-suite roles, both across the UK and internationally. I’m also deeply passionate about developing others, fostering growth and providing guidance to help individuals reach their full potential. I thrive on helping individuals reach their potential no matter what stage in their career and taking the time to find out personal motivators and match them to a new opportunity has always been why I enjoy recruitment so much. I have a tenacious attitude and given a challenge will endeavour to ensure optimal results for both candidates and clients alike. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and my two boys in the Suffolk countryside. I enjoy watching sports having played Rugby in a past life and socialising with friends and family.

I have over 7 years experience within the recruitment sector specialising initially within the qualified financial commerce and industry markets and branching out over the last 3 years recruiting across a number of divisions for the UK and global markets. Coming from a luxury retail background I have high attention for detail and work well on a head hunting project, ensuring a thorough approach to ensure I go above and beyond to match candidates to clients needs, all whilst maintaining good long term relationships. I have a strong network of professionals across multiple markets and love learning about industry trends and new business sectors. You can never stop learning. Outside of work I love spending time with my boys and family, mainly outside burning some energy and will dance to anything from the 80’s with a glass of champagne in hand.

Outside of work, I have a huge passion for the fitness industry and have had the privilege of representing some of the biggest brands in the world. When I’m not driving business growth or keeping active, I’m a dedicated family man and dad, always making time for my loved ones. I also have a big heart for animals and have rehomed many over the years—I am currently sharing my home with two dogs, a cat, three horses, and three cows!

With three years of experience working within the Banking recruitment sector. I specialise in connecting professionals with leading Banking and Financial Services clients across the UK and UAE. Whether it’s temporary, contract or permanent placements, I help match talent from entry level to C-suit positions and everything in between. I recruit for a wide range of roles across the branch network, including Compliance, Investments, Trade Finance, Underwriting, Credit, Relationship Management and more. My goal is to ensure both clients and candidates find the perfect fit, creating lasting partnerships that drive success. Outside of work, I’m passionate about fitness and maintain a healthy lifestyle. You will often find me in the gym or enjoying an active weekend. That said, I also believe in balance, there’s nothing better than unwinding by the pool with a couple of Margaritas! I have three years worth of experience in the recruitment industry, having worked both internally and now with an agency. I Manage a team here within the Sales and Creative Marketing industry. We work on all temporary, contract and permanent vacancies for the sector. I have experience finding talent for clients in all aspects of their business, from entry level positions up to c-suite. I have a real passion for recruitment and great satisfaction making both my clients and candidates happy. I know moving roles can be a stressful stage in someone’s life, both professionally and personally, so I do all I can to make it the smoothest and most enjoyable process possible. Outside of my professional life, I am a competitive dancer and have been since 2013. I always strive for perfection and being a dancer you have to be when it comes to competing. You could say this attribute of mine has helped me get to where I am today in my recruitment career!
